⭐ Situation + Task
The goal was to reverse-engineer a small motor, recreate its geometry in CAD, and revise its transmission design using standard parts while validating load-bearing capacity.
⚙️ Action
Disassembled the motor and measured key components (gears, shafts), generating free body diagrams for mechanical analysis.
Reconstructed the complete motor system in SolidWorks, and simulated its motion and loading conditions.
Used Python to perform stress and torque calculations for transmission elements.
Generated a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and selected off-the-shelf components to match the revised design.
Co-authored a technical report summarizing mechanical improvements and system insights.
📈 Result
Delivered a revised, fully modeled transmission system with improved modularity and reliability.
Technical documentation was well-received and used as a learning aid for future design projects.
